Today I finished a goal that I set five months ago.  I ran the Soldier Field 10 Mile.  When I signed up for the run, I estimated my time would be two hours.  A few weeks ago I adjusted my goal, thinking I might be able to finish it at a 10-minute-mile pace.  I cross the line at 1:38:25, for a pace of 9:51 per mile.

Less than one year ago I ran my first 5K.  It was the Race for the Cure in Moline, and I finished it at a 12-minute-mile pace.  I could only jog the first two miles, and had to walk most of the third.  Today I only paused for a few seconds to take a picture of the most beautiful skyline in the world.
